A full port-terminal level in Unreal Engine 5 with two operable vehicles —ship-to-shore and RTG cranes— in a single environment: quay, silos, warehouses, container yards and tractor-trailer logistics. It extends the RTG crane simulator to the full port chain, replicating the ship-to-dock-to-yard unloading cycle in a single environment.

Problem

A port operator does not just run one crane: cargo flows from the ship to the dock with STS cranes and from there to the yard with RTG cranes. Training that full flow required a single environment integrating both machines and the whole terminal.

Solution

I built a port terminal simulator in Unreal Engine 5 that integrates ship-to-shore (STS) and RTG cranes across a photorealistic port —dock, silos, warehouses, container yards and tractor-trailers— replicating the ship-to-dock-to-yard unloading cycle.

Result

A single environment to train the terminal's end-to-end operation, extending the RTG crane simulator to the full port chain with photorealistic visual quality.

Ship-to-Shore (STS) Crane

I integrated the STS crane with its spreader and the ship-to-dock unloading maneuver, adding it to the port simulator ecosystem alongside the RTG crane.

Integrated STS + RTG Flow

I connected the STS operation at the dock with the RTG yard to simulate the complete unloading and stacking cycle within a single terminal.
